Description
Monique, François, and Nicolas represent the 5th generation at this beautiful estate in the village of Bué, this Sancerre terroir so beloved by connoisseurs. The dominant soil type consists of limestone, which is particularly suitable for growing Sauvignon Blanc grapes. That is, if you appreciate a fresh, aromatic style and an almost chalky taste that many sommeliers describe as 'mineral.' For that is what characterizes the good Sancerres from Bué. The Millet family works with respect for nature, feeding the vineyards exclusively with organic fertilizer and tilling the soil to create good aeration with a rich diversity of biological life. In the cellar, pumps are not used for the most important operations, such as bottling; instead, Millet utilizes gravity, which has a much less disruptive influence on the wines. A kind of 'slow cooking,' but in the wine cellar. The result is an impeccable, expressive, crisp, dry Sancerre.
Drinks with
Slim, crisp dry white wine to drink as an aperitif, or with a green salad with goat cheese and avocado, pan-fried plaice with green herbs, or a stir-fry with white cabbage, lentils, and caraway.
Tasting note
Beautiful white wine with an expressive aroma of Granny Smith apple, melon, lime peel, and boxwood. The taste is refined with good body, invigorating acidity, and lovely grapefruit notes in the long finish.
Shelf life
Now beautiful and keeps for at least 6 years after the harvest.
