Description
Monique, François, and Nicolas are the fifth generation at this beautiful estate in the village of Bué, a Sancerre terroir so beloved by connoisseurs. The dominant soil type is limestone, particularly suited to growing Sauvignon grapes. This is especially true if you appreciate a fresh, aromatic style, with an almost chalky flavor that many sommeliers call "mineral." This is what characterizes the fine Sancerre wines from Bué. The Millet family works with respect for nature, feeding the vineyards exclusively with organic fertilizers and cultivating the soil to create good aeration and a rich diversity of biological life. In the cellar, for the most important processes, such as bottling, Millet uses gravity instead of pumps, which has a much less disruptive effect on the wines. A kind of "slow cooking," but in the wine cellar. The result is an impeccable, expressive, crisp, dry Sancerre.
Drinking at
A lean, crisp, dry white wine to enjoy as an aperitif, or with a green salad with goat's cheese and avocado, fried plaice with green herbs, or a stir-fry with white cabbage, lentils, and caraway.
Tasting note
A beautiful white wine with expressive aromas of Granny Smith, melon, lime zest, and boxwood. The palate is refined with a good body, invigorating acidity, and lovely grapefruit notes in the long finish.
Shelf life
Now beautiful and lasting for at least 6 years after harvest.
