| Mineral complex Pouilly-Fumé from silex bottom | |
| The prestige wine from the small-scale family estate Redde | |
| Made from 100% hand-harvested Sauvignon |
100% hand-picked Sauvignon Blanc
A beautiful, elegant dry white wine with a rich aroma of floral and mineral nuances and ripe fruit. The palate is soft, rounded, and full, developing a long, balanced finish. Particularly good with refined fish or poultry dishes; decant an hour before serving, if desired.
Loire as no one knows it anymore
The name Redde is inextricably linked to outstanding Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. Michel Redde and his wife built up the impressive vineyard in Pouilly-Fumé in the 1950s. Their son, Thierry, is responsible for the modern, three-story winery, where vinification is carried out using gravity. Grandsons Sébastien and Romain are now also fully involved in the estate. Their shared goal? To create the finest expression of grape, terroir, and vintage.
What's special about the Redde family's vineyards is that they're spread across Pouilly-sur-Loire and are therefore characterized by diverse soil types. This beautiful, crisp, dry white wine comes from a truly special vineyard called Les Champs des Froids. To prepare this old flint quarry for vines, the enormous, rock-hard flint blocks first had to be blasted with explosives. The name "Barre à mine"—a mining tool—is therefore a fitting reference to this colossal undertaking.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes for this crisp, dry, and complex Pouilly-Fumé are harvested by hand. After harvesting, the wine ferments in large wooden vats, followed by several months of aging in contact with the yeast, also in oak. The result is a stunning white Loire Valley wine with intense freshness that, thanks to its high concentration of flavors, can easily age in the bottle for ten years. To fully express its complex, mineral character, we recommend decanting.
