A delicious Chardonnay
An Italian white wine with aromas of caramel butter and overripe white fruit. The flavor is wonderfully smooth. It pairs beautifully with lightly seasoned fish or poultry, but is also delicious on its own.
Description
The enthusiastic Massimo di Lenardo produces highly attractive wines at his small family winery in northern Italy. Their high quality is annually confirmed by leading Italian wine guides, such as Gambero Rosso, Veronelli, and Luca Maroni. Di Lenardo's wines are exceptionally pure in aroma and flavor, confirming Friuli's reputation as a unique Italian wine region.
Massimo crafts this irresistibly delicious premium white wine from exclusively hand-picked Chardonnay. After several hours of cold maceration, the juice ferments in small oak barrels. The wine then matures "sur lie," or on the yeast, for approximately seven months. Massimo's intention is to create a luxurious, rich white wine with distinct notes of new oak—and he succeeds admirably.
Moreover, the vineyards are improving in quality every year, resulting in an impressive, expressive white wine. It's no wonder Father's Eyes has been a crowd-pleaser for years. It pairs perfectly with roasted or grilled fish, but also makes a convincing accompaniment on its own.
