Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire

Pierre Clément has now elevated his beautiful dry white Sauvignon from the chalky vineyards of Menetou-Salon to a superb level of quality. Its culinary versatility has made this intensely pure white wine a favorite of sommeliers in countless restaurants.

Pierre Clément's strength lies in the consistent and high quality of this fresh and appetizing wine. After harvest, the best grapes are selected on sorting tables. One-third of the harvest is briefly macerated with the skins and then pressed with light pressure. After fermentation, the wine is aged "sur lie" (on the lees). This takes place over the winter months; the wine is not bottled until March.

Clément produces a truly outstanding Sauvignon Blanc, and his wine ranks high on the list of the most sought-after white Loire Valley wines. Both the Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes reached peak ripeness in 2015, with ample sugars and retaining excellent acidity.
