Fumane the wine region of Valpolicella

Tiziano Accordini's small, successful family winery produces a delicious, full-bodied red wine from grapes grown on a newly acquired terraced vineyard. The Terrazza del Maestro vineyard is located at an altitude of around 400 meters near the town of Fumane in the heart of the Valpolicella wine region. The vineyard covers just four hectares and is planted with 90% corvina and 10% rondinella grapes.

Tiziano brings great flexibility to the wine by harvesting the grapes as late as possible and conducting the second malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The oak imparts a very pleasant, smooth, round flavor during this fermentation, further enhanced by an aging period of approximately four months in the same barrels. The result is a full-bodied red wine with a thickness and roundness unusual for typical Valpolicella.
