Panizzi is considered one of the best addresses for the famous Tuscan white wine Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The quality of his red wines is less well-known. Owner Simone Niccolai adheres to originality and tradition, using only Sangiovese grapes to create a refined Chianti with a smooth and accessible style.

Bucking the trend, Chianti increasingly contains up to 20% Merlot or Cabernet grapes, which give the wine a rich color and exaggerated power. Panizzi Chianti is aged for ten months in small, partially new oak barrels. The result is a beautifully supple red wine from the hills surrounding San Gimignano. It pairs perfectly with refined dishes.
