Amarone is the most powerful red Valpolicella. The Bonomo family of the Tenuta Lena di Mezzo makes a beautiful version from late-harvest Corvina (80%) and Rondinella grapes, harvested around mid-October. The 18 hectares of vineyards are situated on terraces at an average altitude of 300 meters in the heart of the appellation.

Harvest takes place after the grapes have fully ripened and the on-vine drying process has begun. In the cellar, this drying process continues for three to four months, resulting in enormous concentration. The very slow fermentation ensures maximum extraction of the grape aromas and flavors. After fermentation, the wine is aged for at least 24 months in large 2,000- and 3,000-liter barrels. The result is impressive, with abundant color, flavor, and smoothness.
