Bright red wine from Italy with a refined aroma of ripe candied fruit, light spices, and a hint of oak. The taste is elegant, full, and aromatic. A lovely accompaniment to poultry or pork.

Description

Due to the different vinification methods, Valpolicella can vary greatly in style. This ranges from light and fruity (Valpolicella) to very concentrated (Valpolicella Amarone). Various wines are also produced at Tenuta Lena di Mezzo. For the Ripasso, the best part of the red Valpolicella wine is set aside and supplemented in February with the spent grape marc from the concentrated Amarone wine. This creates a second fermentation that completely transforms the wine and results in much greater concentration in color, aroma, and taste. After this, the wine ages for approximately 12 months in small oak barrels.
