Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah & Touriga Nacional
Full-bodied red wine with a powerful aroma of ripe red fruit (blackberries and berries) and fine oak. The taste starts full and round, developing ripe, soft tannins. The finish is aromatic and persistent.
Regional Alentejo, Portugal
This 'Colheita Seleccionada' is made from four different grape varieties: Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Touriga Nacional. Together, they provide expression and complexity in aroma and taste. After fermentation, half of the wine ages for approximately six months in large 400-liter oak barrels. This is followed by blending with the un-oak-aged wine. This creates a beautiful balance between ripe fruit notes and the influence of the oak. A magnificent Alentejo wine that is also contemporary due to its soft tannins.
The vineyards of this beautiful estate are located in the Alentejo, east of Lisbon. According to many wine writers, this is currently the most exciting wine region in Portugal. For father and son, both named Alexandre Relvas, optimally ripe grapes and sophisticated vinification are the prerequisites for full-bodied yet soft wines. This sets them apart from mass producers who have to work with less uniformly ripe grapes.
Drinks with
Delicious with grilled lamb or beef, but also after the meal.

De Grote Hamersma - May 2020: 8+ | Star wine: remarkably good | Portuguese red with a nice broad berry body
Description
Portuguese red with a lovely broad berry body. Serves us bay leaf, red orange, and ripe blackberry. To finish, an espresso with a touch of vanilla sweetness thanks to four months in oak. And the bill is, as is often the case in Portugal, particularly modest.

| What do we think?: | Gerrit: This is a delicious red wine for the catering industry. A good story completes the wine with its powerful taste. |
Hele prettige service
