Information
Elegant and refined white from Alentejo
From native Portuguese white grapes
Wine made without haste, like in the old days
As an aperitif or with tapas snacks such as olives, cheese and smoked salmon

Antão Vaz meets Arinto

A beautiful dry white wine with aromas of ripe yellow fruit and floral nuances. The initial flavor is soft with a mild, fresh-tart development. A fragrant and juicy finish.

Dom Rafael at his best

This exceptional white wine from Mouchão is blended from indigenous Portuguese white grapes. At this top estate east of Lisbon, wine is made without haste, just as it was in the old days.

The Antão Vaz and Arinto grapes are harvested and fermented separately. The cool fermentation, essential for white wines, is the only technical concession made to traditional winemaking methods.

The first thing you notice about the white Dom Rafael is the enormous freshness in its pure flavor. You wouldn't expect that from a dry white wine from the warm Alentejo region of Portugal! According to co-owner Iain Reynolds, this is due to a combination of soil, microclimate, and very old vines.

The freshness is therefore purely natural and not derived from the acidification of the grape juice, as is common in many warm regions. Serve the wine chilled (at 10°C) as an aperitif or with tapas such as olives, cheese, or smoked salmon.
