Viognier and Macabeo
Spanish dry white wine with the aroma of flowers and fresh yellow fruit. The smooth, fresh, and balanced taste pairs very well with fish starters or cold dishes.
A delicious, juicy, modern wine
The white Las Cuadras is a textbook example of a juicy, modern wine with crystal-clear fruit and grape aromas. The Viognier and Muscat grapes are hand-picked in the early, cool morning hours and taken directly to the cellar. There, they are quickly placed in the cold room, where they remain for approximately forty-eight hours.
This 'cold maceration' technique makes it possible to extract aromas from the grape skin in a slow and delicate manner. You can taste this in the refined and beautifully fragrant Las Cuadras, which incidentally means 'the stables'. Not without reason, as the new fermentation cellar was built on the site where horses were previously stabled.
Spanish bestseller
Costers del Segre (located west of Barcelona) is a appellation that is much less well-known than, for example, Rioja. But it is precisely off the beaten track that we find plenty of wines in Spain with an exceptionally good price-quality ratio. Like this wine!
Las Cuadras has been blended for us by the talented 'oenologist' Valva Martínez de Toda. In the Catalan village of Flix – about 150 kilometers west of Barcelona – she has been making beautiful wines for twelve years.
The climate in this beautiful, hilly part of Catalonia is Mediterranean, but with continental influences. That means warm days and relatively cool nights. Ideal for a winemaker who wants to produce smooth, easy-drinking, and fresh wines.
