What an impressively flavorful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. François Teisserenc, the winemaker at Domaine de l'Arjolle, combines the ripeness of the grapes with a modified vinification technique, resulting in the extraction of fewer, but ripe and soft tannins.

The aging also takes place partly in oak and partly in concrete tanks, which are increasingly preferred over stainless steel. If you sometimes find red Bordeaux a bit too rough and drying in taste, give this full-bodied, smooth blend of Cabernet and Syrah with its beautiful, deep red color.

The quality is exceptionally high for a modest price. Arjolle convincingly demonstrates that the Languedoc can excel in producing luxury red wines with beautiful, ripe flavors. Very tempting.
