Description
Pouilly Fumé is one of the most famous white wine regions in the Loire Valley. The region lies in a triangle between two other renowned wine regions, Sancerre and Menetou-Salon. In these regions, only Sauvignon Blanc grapes are used for white wine production. The relatively cool northern French climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly and for a long time. This creates an optimal balance of sugar and acidity in the grapes—an absolute prerequisite for producing high-quality wines! This is one of the reasons why Pouilly Fumé is one of the best white wines in France.
