In lesser-known wine regions, there are still real discoveries to be made. Finds that surprise everyone in comparative blind tastings. A fine example is Bodegas Piqueras from the small town of Almansa in southeastern Spain. The region is not very well known and has a persistent reputation as a supplier of mediocre wine.

For owner and winemaker Juan Pablo Bonete, this is precisely an incentive to showcase the tremendous potential this region holds. On the 110-hectare Finca Los Timonares, he produces two excellent wines at a competitive price. Since the 2015 vintage, the wine has been organically certified and has already been discovered by many sommeliers as the ideal house wine.

The dry white wine is intensely aromatic, fresh in taste, crystal clear, and made from the Verdejo and Sauvignon grapes.
