| From Burgunder specialist and Master of Wine Von der Mark | |
| Fruity, juicy and intense in taste | |
| Delicious as an aperitif or with fish. |
Jürgen von der Mark is what you might call a remarkable winemaker. He not only graduated as an oenologist from the University of Geisenheim, but also became the first German Master of Wine from the prestigious British Institute of Masters of Wine.
He makes his wines in southern Baden, not far from Burgundy. Here, he specializes in making wines from the Burgunder varieties. Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) is his great passion, but Jürgen also knows his way around Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc).
For this cuvée, he sources the grapes partly from his own vineyards and partly from friendly winemakers. All vines are at least twenty years old, which gives the wine a beautiful concentration of flavors. Once at the winery, Jürgen gently presses the Weissburgunder grapes. He ferments the juice in stainless steel tanks and a small portion in tonneaux. The Weissburgunder then matures on the yeasts until bottling.
It produces a wonderfully juicy, original, and refreshing white wine that works well as an aperitif, cocktail, or pairing with light dishes. Jürgen himself aptly describes it as "our wine to the sun and fish." It makes us thirsty!
