Description

Adam Mason, the former winemaker at the renowned DeMorgenzon, has expanded his fantastic Yardstick wine line with a highly successful new release! And honestly, a Sauvignon Blanc simply had to be part of this South African collection.

Adam sources his grapes from growers in Elgin and Walker Bay. Most of his Sauvignon Blanc comes from Kogelberg in cool Elgin. He sources a small portion of Sauvignon Blanc and a small portion of Semillon from Botrivier in Walker Bay.

After the grapes are hand-picked, Adam ferments the Elgin grapes in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness, while the more mature Walker Bay grapes are fermented in used French oak barrels. He then ages the wine on the lees for several months. This creates a sublime balance between aromatic grape expression and freshness, along with a beautifully full flavor.

It produces an artful and delicious South African Sauvignon Blanc, with a distinct aroma of Granny Smith, melon, and green fig, and a fresh, intense flavor with a subtle hint of toast. Enjoy this vibrant white wine on its own or at the table, perhaps with summer salads, barbecued langoustines, or fresh goat cheeses.
