Tasting note Terra Grande
Description
The passionate Juan Pablo Bonete turns the grapes in the 100% organic vineyards at the Finca Los Timonares into a very pleasant and good quality syrah with an excellent price pleasure ratio. Last year winner of two gold medals, including the Berliner Wein Trophy.
The wine is aged for six months in 300-liter American oak casks.
Producing a healthy grape is no problem in this part of Spain, but the challenge is in determining the right harvest time. Grapes harvested too early give a hard and stiff taste. Late harvested grapes give overripe notes with a lot of alcohol color and thickness.
Many winegrowers are also looking for this, but it often comes at the expense of a drinkable taste.
Angel Bonete, Juan Pablo's brother, is responsible for the vineyards, taking special care to ensure that the grapes retain sufficient freshness and do not become overripe. And this is precisely what distinguishes the brothers from the mass productions in this part of Spain.
Despite the planting of organic vineyards, this wine does not (yet) have an organic certificate. The reason for this is that conventional grapes are also processed in the cellars of this wine company. Highly recommended!
