Jean Paul Brun is the quirky and widely discussed winemaker and owner of the Terres Dorées family domain in the south of Beaujolais. He makes authentic artless wine with a high purity in smell and taste and a modest alcohol content. Brun early went against the flow of winemakers who make lemonade Beaujolais with additives and artifacts that smell of candy and banana.
This Beaujolais cru is much more concentrated than an average Fleurie because Brun has a naturally low yield in the vineyard. The yield per vine is lower, but the grapes harvested have more power and taste. A beautiful very pure wine with a long finish.
