Description
A textbook example of modern white winemaking: while not specifically terroir-specific, this Sauvignon is head and shoulders above the vast global offerings of this popular grape. La Cour des Dames demonstrates that France can also compete with the global competition in the world of popular wines.
The grapes are harvested in the cool morning and quickly transported to the cellar. After brief contact with the skins and fermentation at a low temperature, they are aged on the lees (sur lie) for several months, giving the wine a delicious juiciness. Naturally, the wine is bottled with a screw cap to optimally preserve the grape's expression!
