Description

Clos del Rey is the small family estate of Jacques and Julien Montagné. Their breathtaking vineyards are nestled amid fragrant garrigues at an altitude of about three hundred meters in the Roussillon region, in the village of Maury. This appellation is known for its sweet, port-like wines, but you won't find any of those at the Montagné estate.

Clos del Rey produces small quantities of excellent white and red wine from just eight hectares of vineyards. They source the grapes for Baby del Rey, their cheerful, smooth, and fruit-dominated white and red wines. The taste of Clos del Rey, for every budget.

The exuberantly fruity, sultry red Baby del Rey is made from Grenache, supplemented with a small portion of Syrah, harvested in the Côtes Catalanes region of northern Roussillon. Because the Montangnés make Baby del Rey as a joyful, fruity style for everyday use, no oak aging is involved in the vinification process.

It's a smooth, pure red wine, with ripe, sun-drenched plum and cherry fruit and a refined spiciness. Enjoy it on its own, with a charcuterie board or young hard cheese, or with lamb or ratatouille. It tastes even better slightly chilled!
