Description

Clos del Rey is the small family winery of father Jacques and son Julien Montagné. Their breathtaking vineyards are surrounded by fragrant garrigues at an altitude of about three hundred meters in the Roussillon, in the village of Maury. This appellation is known for its sweet, port-like wines, but you will not find those at father and son Montagné's.

Clos del Rey produces small quantities of excellent quality white and red wine from just eight hectares of vineyard. For the Baby del Rey, their cheerful, smooth, and fruit-dominated white and red calling card, they source the grapes. The taste of Clos del Rey, for every budget.

The exuberantly fruity, sultry red Baby del Rey is made from Grenache, supplemented by a small proportion of Syrah, harvested in the Côtes Catalanes in the north of Roussillon. Because the Montangnés produce Baby del Rey as a joyful, fruity everyday style, no oak aging is involved in the vinification.

It is, therefore, a smooth, pure red wine, with ripe, sun-drenched plum and cherry fruit and a refined spiciness. Drink it on its own, with a charcuterie board or young hard cheese, or with lamb or ratatouille. It tastes even better slightly chilled!
