Petit Chablis may have 'petit' in the name, but there is nothing small about Sébastien Dampt's. This is also evidenced by the glowing reviews he receives for this wine from international critics. Parker's Wine Advocate, for example, writes: 'certainly one of the best Petit Chablis that I tasted'. That says it all about the great talent of the young Sébastien.

Officially, Petit Chablis is considered the least prestigious appellation of Chablis. In many cases, this is indeed reflected in the quality of the wines. However, in the hands of a good winemaker, Petit Chablis can become so good that it tastes better than the average Chablis. This is one such example.

Sébastien's love for the wine trade is no surprise. He started his own domain in 2007 after training in Beaune and several years of work experience at his father Daniel Dampt's wine business. It is in his father's footsteps that he makes his wines: traditionally, with fermentation and aging exclusively in stainless steel tanks to achieve optimal terroir expression and a fresh, mineral character. Malolactic fermentation ensures that, despite its fresh character, the wine is also beautifully rounded and slightly creamy. Delicious to drink as an aperitif or with a fine fish dish.
