Pecorino is typically Italian
Full-bodied dry white wine from Italy with an aroma of ripe yellow fruits and light toast nuances. The taste is full and creamy. Delicious with flavorful fish dishes, but also tasty with young cheeses.
Offida DOCG
Surrounding the towns of Castel di Lama and Offida lie the beautiful high-altitude organic vineyards of Azienda De Angelis. Here, Alighiero and Quinto Fausti cultivate, among others, the Pecorino grape, a variety native to the Marche region.
The grapes are picked and pressed as cool as possible—early in the morning—after which fermentation follows quickly. This is of great importance for preserving the fruity aromas. The result is a modern, pure, and powerful-tasting wine with great originality. The aroma is full and fruity, the taste delightfully fresh.
In 2011, Offida was awarded the highest quality category in Italy, the DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita). A special recognition of the efforts of the winemakers in this attractive wine region.
The 2015 Slow Wine guide lists this Pecorino as the best white wine from De Angelis, including the (€) symbol for its excellent value for money. Incidentally, the other major wine guides in Italy (Gambero Rosso and Duemilavini) are also full of praise. This wine deserves your attention!
