A full Pecorino
Dry powerful white wine from Italy with the scent of ripe apricot almond and oak. The full, thick taste combines well with fish or poultry.
Description
One of our favorite southern Italian producers is the progressive Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa, southeast of Pescara. A small team here makes excellent wines that are among the very best in the region, using the grapes from approximately 35 hectares of organically farmed vineyards.
For example, this powerful dry white wine from the pecorino grape. This autochthonous Italian grape variety is planted almost exclusively in the Abruzzo and the Marches. The wine is highly regarded by wine connoisseurs, which is why pecorino is making a slow comeback.
Winemaker Amedeo de Luca turns it into a full-bodied, flawless white wine, with a wonderful balance of taste between fresh acids and a seductive juiciness. An excellent culinary match with tasty starters and main courses, such as vitello tonnato and sea bass from the oven.

Anyone looking for characteristic quality in the Italian Abruzzo will soon find a group of passionate small wineries.
One of these is the young Azienda Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa. With a small occupation, organic wines are made here that are among the very best in the region.
