Description

One of our favorite southern Italian producers is the progressive Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa, southeast of Pescara. A small team here crafts excellent wines from grapes grown on approximately 35 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, some of the very best in the region.

For example, this powerful dry white wine made from the Pecorino grape. This native Italian grape variety is grown almost exclusively in Abruzzo and Le Marche. The wine is highly prized by wine connoisseurs, which is why Pecorino is slowly making a comeback.

Winemaker Amedeo de Luca creates a full-bodied, flawless white wine with a beautiful balance of crisp acidity and seductive juiciness. A perfect culinary pairing with flavorful appetizers and main courses, such as vitello tonnato and oven-baked sea bass.

Anyone looking for characteristic quality in Italy's Abruzzo will soon find themselves in a group of passionate small wineries.
One of these is the young Azienda Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa. A small team produces organic wines here that are among the very best in the region.
This powerful, oak-aged, dry white wine is made from the Pecorino grape. This native Italian variety is grown almost exclusively in Abruzzo and the slightly more northerly Le Marche region. The grape is slowly making a comeback and is highly regarded by connoisseurs.
