A full Pecorino
Dry powerful white wine from Italy with the scent of ripe apricot almond and oak. The full, thick taste combines excellently with fish or poultry.
Description
One of our favorite southern Italian producers is progressive Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa, southeast of Pescara. A small team makes excellent wines here - from the grapes of about 35 hectares of organically farmed vineyards - that are among the very best in the region.
For example, this powerful dry white wine from the pecorino grape. This autochthonous Italian grape variety is almost exclusively planted in Abruzzo and the Marches. The wine is highly regarded by wine connoisseurs, which means that pecorino is making a slow comeback.
Winemaker Amedeo de Luca turns it into a full, flawless white wine, with a beautiful taste balance between fresh acidity and a seductive juiciness. An excellent culinary match with tasteful starters and main courses, such as vitello tonnato and sea bass from the oven.

Those looking for characteristic quality in Italian Abruzzo will soon find themselves in a group of passionate small wine companies.
One of these is the young Azienda Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa. With a small occupation, organic wines are made here that are among the very best in the region.
