Fragrant red wine from Portugal, with ripe fruit notes and slightly roasted nuances. The taste is full, smooth, powerful and fresh. Delicious with grilled and stewed dishes or a creamy, spicy cheese.

With his red Prunus, modernist Carlos Silva shows a very different type of Dão than the drying traditional style that has given the region a bad reputation among many wine enthusiasts. Prunus has a lot of fruit, elegance and an accessible taste.

The touriga nacional, jaen, tinta roriz and alfrocheiro preto grapes are picked by hand at the end of September. They only soak in the juice for a short time to extract only the soft tannins from the skin. This is followed by fermentation and then the wine matures for about six months in wooden casks.

A good example of an accessible, smooth red wine from the traditional Dão. Great with grilled and stewed dishes or a creamy, spicy cheese.

Prunus, the modern Dão with fruit and smoothness, is a real pleasure wine in both white and red. Of course, there are also more powerful and complex wines to be found in this classic Portuguese wine region, but Prunus is particularly well made for this price and also incredibly tasty!
