A deliciously smooth Gamay
Accessible red wine with plenty of fresh red fruit on the nose and light jam-like nuances. The juicy and smooth taste is well-balanced. Delicious with refreshing salads or cold meat platters.
The Beaujolais you shouldn't miss
Jean Paul Brun is the idiosyncratic and much-discussed winemaker and owner of the family estate Terres Dorées in the south of Beaujolais. He makes authentic, unpretentious wine with great purity in aroma and taste and a modest alcohol content. Brun went against the grain early on of winemakers who use additives and artificial tricks to produce lemonade-like Beaujolais that smell of candy and banana.
The Cuvée Première is an archetypal Beaujolais with great purity and a delicious, smooth taste. Enjoyable all year round, especially if the wine is lightly chilled during the summer.
Wine Magazine Proefschrift:
However, the wines are anything but 'Parker-esque blockbusters' in the form of lots of color, high alcohol, lots of oak, and lots of body. They excel in digestibility, lightness, and the purest grape expression.
