Description

Antoine Touton owner-winemaker of Château Sainte Barbe got it right: unlike his compatriots, non-French people often drink red wine outside of a meal.

It is logical that this creates a preference for round and soft-tasting wines. Touton adapts his winemaking method to this: he harvests the grapes later - and therefore even riper - than usual.

In addition, he lets the grape skins ferment for a relatively short time in order to obtain the smoothest possible flavor structure. This makes Château Sainte Barbe very pleasant even at a young age. But the wine can also easily age for a few years.

The merlot (80%) and cabernet grapes are harvested when ripe, which gives the wine a pleasant softness. In combination with the oak aging you get the suggestion of a luxury Saint-Emilion or Pomerol! A special wine for lovers of round, full burgundy.
