Tasting note Cour Pinot Noir

A French red wine with aromas of spicy red fruit and oak. The flavor is juicy, fresh, and invigorating: ideal with cold (meat) dishes, lightly spiced pasta, or poultry.

Description

Laurent Delaunay, responsible for La Cour des Dames wines, comes from a family with a long history in Burgundy. After training as an oenologist and working experience in California, among other places, he established himself as an independent winemaker in France near Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1995. Besides specializing in high-quality Burgundies, he soon focused on selecting high-quality wines in the South of France.

The biggest challenge for this Burgundy specialist was to make a good Pinot Noir outside Burgundy. He found what he was looking for in the high-altitude vineyards between Narbonne and Limoux: ripe Pinot Noir combined with freshness. After a short oak aging, the result is a seductive red wine.
