Description

The beautiful Abruzzo region lies in central Italy, and its wine regions boast numerous different microclimates. The vineyards lie between the Adriatic Sea and the foothills of the Apennines. The elevated vineyards of the Madregale Pinot Grigio are considerably cooler than those near the sea, ensuring slow ripening, allowing the grapes to retain optimal freshness. This is evident in this pure white wine, and it's partly why this Abruzzo Pinot Grigio distinguishes itself from its more common counterparts in northern Veneto, with its many flat (and warmer) vineyards. The Terre di Chieti appellation, located in Abruzzo, is used to describe the numerous grape varieties planted there that are not native to this region.
