Tasting note Domaine Mazilly Bourgogne Chardonnay

A beautiful, elegant white Burgundy with a fragrant aroma of ripe apple, a touch of butter, and a refined touch of oak. The palate is round on the attack and finishes with a fresh, balanced finish. Excellent with fish dishes or poultry. Drink from two years after harvest and easily keep for four to five years.

Description

At their small family estate in Meloisey, just west of Pommard, Frédéric and Aymeric Mazilly craft distinctive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. Their White Burgundy Chardonnay, the little sister of Mazilly's Meursault, is a true winner and very characteristic of the Côtes de Beaune wines. The wine is fermented and aged in small oak barrels, 20% of which are replaced annually. With its invigorating freshness, Mazilly's White Burgundy is the perfect accompaniment to refined dishes, such as poached or roasted fish, white meat, or poultry. The wine is ready to drink now but can still age for four to five years after the harvest.
