It seems that everything Jean Paul Brun touches turns to gold. The extremely dedicated winemaker of Terres Dorées has an established reputation for his Burgundian-made red and white Beaujolais. This beautiful, subtle Saint-Amour is no exception.

Saint-Amour is the northernmost cru in the region. The gamay grapes come from about 50 year old sticks. They are planted on a granite soil, which gives the final wine a special character.

After the manual harvest, the grapes are thoroughly sorted and destemmed. Brun de gamay then ferments using the natural yeasts present on the grape skins. Finally, to preserve the intense, pure fruit character, the wine does not age in wooden, but concrete barrels.

The end result is astonishing. The smell alone: an intense perfume of fresh red fruit, complemented by floral, earthy and peppery notes. And then the taste: super pure fruit, a delicate yet powerful structure, lively fresh acidity and a complex, long aftertaste. We can only say: it is love at first sight with this Saint-Amour.
