100% Fiano from Southern Italy
Fruity dry white wine from Southern Italy with the aroma of flowers and green apple. The soft, slightly spicy, and juicy taste pairs very well with fresh salads. Also delicious as an aperitif.
Pasquale Clemente and his organic wines
Masseria Frattasi is a small wine estate in the hinterland of Naples in Campania. In the high-altitude vineyards, owner Pasquale Clemente cultivates indigenous grape varieties biodynamically.
The region around the town of Benevento has calcareous and volcanic soil. Combined with the coolness of the vineyards, this results in wonderfully fresh wines, despite their Southern Italian origins. A fine example is this Fiano from the village of Avellino, which has become known as an ancient quality grape. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of about 380 meters, and the grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September.
The yield of the vines is low, meaning that only a little over 4,000 bottles can be produced annually. Nowhere near enough to satisfy all of Clemente's customers! But this year we managed to purchase a slightly larger quantity of this unique wine.
