100% Fiano from Southern Italy
A fruity, dry white wine from southern Italy with floral and green apple aromas. Its soft, slightly spicy, and juicy flavor pairs beautifully with fresh salads. Also delicious as an aperitif.
Pasquale Clemente and his organic wines
Masseria Frattasi is a small wine estate in the hinterland of Naples in Campania. Owner Pasquale Clemente cultivates indigenous grape varieties biodynamically in the high-altitude vineyards.
The region around the town of Benevento boasts chalky and volcanic soil. Combined with the cool climate of the vineyards, this results in wonderfully fresh wines despite their Southern Italian origins. A prime example is this fiano, which became known in the village of Avellino as an ancient, high-quality grape. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of around 380 meters, and the grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September.
The vines' yields are low, meaning only a mere 4,000 bottles can be produced annually. Not nearly enough to satisfy all of Clemente's customers! But this year, we've managed to source this unique wine in larger quantities.
