Tasting note Masseria Frattasi Fiano
Fruity dry white wine from Southern Italy with the scent of flowers and green apple. The soft, slightly spicy and juicy taste combines very well with fresh salads. Also delicious as an aperitif.
Masseria Frattasi is a small wine estate in the hinterland of Naples in Campania. In the high vineyards, owner Pasquale Clemente biologically grows native grape varieties.
The area around the town of Benevento has calcareous and volcanic soil. In combination with the coolness in the vineyards, this ensures wonderfully fresh wines despite the southern Italian origin. A good example is this fiano in the village of Avellino, known as an ancient quality grape. The vineyards are at an altitude of 380 meters and the grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September.
The yield of the vines is low, so that only 4,000 bottles can be produced annually. Not nearly enough to satisfy all Clemente customers! But this year we managed to buy this unique wine a bit more spacious.
|Type of wine||Quiet|
|Organic without certificate||Yes|
Due to its freshness, it is an excellent aperitif but also delicious with fresh starters and salads.
