The perfect Christmas wines Paradox

Deep dark red color with the scent of ripe black fruit, herbs and light oak. The taste is full and powerful, almost sultry, with nuances of freshly roasted coffee. The aftertaste is long and persistent.

Special bottle, also available in blanc

Louis-Marie and François Teisserenc have adapted the style of their top wine, the Paradoxe, since the 2009 harvest. The proportion of Bordeaux grapes is gradually reduced and that of the typical southern French grape varieties Syrah and Grenache increased. The Syrah vineyard is of phenomenal quality and now accounts for almost 60% of the assembly.

The grapes are harvested manually with the very limited yield of 35 hl/ha for this area. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in new oak barrels. A method that suits a high-quality wine.

As of the 2009 vintage, Arjolle has largely used new casks from famous Burgundy tonneliers such as Mercurey Chassin and Seguin Moreau. These casks limit the direct influence of the oak but above all provide elegance and finesse. A great wine!
