Von der Mark-Walter Baden Spätburgunder 2023

Besides his small winery specializing in Spätburgunder, oenologist and Master of Wine Jürgen Von der Mark has another interesting project in Baden, together with Weinakademiker Guido Walter. The two friends have set themselves the noble goal of creating "cultural wines for everyday use"—affordable wines with personality and authenticity.

They've miraculously succeeded with this fantastic Spätburgunder. What an incredibly delicious, typical, and characterful red Baden wine for less than ten euros. A remarkable achievement!

The grapes are purchased from winegrowers in Ortenau, considered one of the most beautiful subregions of Baden. Jürgen and Guido maintain a personal relationship with the farmers, determine the harvest time, and ensure that the vineyard is managed with respect. Once harvested, the two process the grapes at Jürgen's winery.

This Spätburgunder is a very seductive, fruity, light red wine. Juicy and ripe, with concentrated berry fruit, a touch of spice, and a hint of oak. Delicious on its own (even in summer!), but also excellent with chicken or white meat. For optimal enjoyment, we recommend serving it slightly chilled.
