Charmer, also delicious as an aperitif

Tasting notes Coudoulet Viognier

An aromatic dry white wine from France with notes of apple and peach. Its full, balanced flavor makes it a delicious aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with fish and summer salads.

Description

Many white wines are typically made for quick consumption. But there are also those that significantly improve in flavor after several months—or even years—of bottle aging. Like this beautiful dry white wine from Pierre-André Ournac. At his small family estate, he makes a high-quality viognier from grapes grown on old vines.

The fact that this particular white wine benefits from bottle aging is undoubtedly due to the low yield in the vineyard and the resulting concentration of flavors. Now, over a year after the harvest, the fermentation aromas have disappeared. They have been replaced by the beautiful aromas of peach, apple, and flowers characteristic of a good viognier.

These wines are restrained and refined, allowing the full and creamy, yet refreshing flavor to pair perfectly with refined fish dishes. Wine of this caliber convincingly demonstrates that good quality can be found in this southern French region at a very competitive price.
