Information
Beautiful dry rosé
Great with grilled fish
Fresh, fruity, full and powerful
Delicious with cold dishes or grilled food

Southern Rhône at home

French dry rosé. Fresh and fruity aroma, with nuances of ripe red fruits and mild spices. The full, powerful flavor pairs excellently with mild to spicy dishes, both cold and grilled.

Domaine Le Clos du Caillou

Le Clos du Caillou in the Rhône is known worldwide for its beautiful Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Yet, the estate's vineyards do not officially fall within the AOC. This has everything to do with the stubbornness of the first owner: in 1936, he refused to allow the experts coming to assess his business onto his land. And so, Sylvie Vacheron, the current owner, has a business that shares the terroir of the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, but does not belong to it.

Sylvie's father, Claude Pouizin, bought Le Clos du Caillou in 1956. At that time, the work was focused purely on grape cultivation, and the entire harvest went to the cooperative. It was not until 1993 that wine was made there again for the first time. In 1995, Sylvie and her (now deceased) husband took over the estate and embarked on a whole series of renovations.

Together with winemaker Bruno Gaspard, Sylvie now manages the estate, which owns 44 hectares of vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône and 9 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The entire estate is certified organic. Grapes that traditionally thrive in the warmth of the Rhône region are also planted, such as Grenache, Syrah, and (for whites) Roussanne. Wine is made from these with a gentle hand, resulting in a supple, round, and above all, silky smooth wine.
